Despite Harborne's intentions, it took them a while to get going. Around 45 mins to be precise! Rugby were a well oiled team, with great set play and some energetic forwards who didn’t appear to run out of energy. But Harborne didn’t give up and that was key to their game. As so often, GK Lucie Gale was fantastic with her calm head, super quick feet, and outstretched strong arms (is there anything she can’t do?), and saved too many shots to remember. Thankfully, the speedy thinking of Rebecca Roycroft in the middle of the second half led to a shot on target when Rugby weren’t quite looking, which found the back board. And then a few moments later, Roycroft found the back of the net again with a backwards, left handed whack at the goal. This is the game the team need to remember when they are knackered or facing an opposition that appear to be insurmountable. Keep going, don’t give up. The game aint over till that whistle blows! A good final score against a quality opposition.

Joint man of the match went to Mary Quinton for repeatedly blocking their forwards and Emily Fox for keeping us steady and never giving up in the middle.

DoD went to Fidelis Navas for not starting on at the beginning of second half despite clear instructions that she supposed too. Obviously she recalls a different instruction....!
